Kristína Mésároš (*1981)
ukončila štúdium voľnej grafiky v ateliér Vojtecha Kolenčíka na bratislavskej VŠVU začiatkom nového milénia, v čase, keď mala mladá maľba na Slovensku svojho diváka a veľký počet protagonistov.
Ako školená grafička si cestu k maľbe nachádzala sama a možno práve vďaka tomuto individualizmu patrí k výrazným zjavom súčasnej slovenskej maľby. Jej tvorba je charakteristická silným nezávislým autentickým výrazom bez sledovania aktuálnych trendov a tendencií v umení.
Kristína Mésároš v tvorbe nereflektuje externé – politické, sociálne či spoločenské udalosti, patrí k umelkyniam a umelcom inklinujúcim k vnútornej osobnej výpovedi.
completed her study of free graphics in the studio of Vojtech Kolenčík at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design (VŠVU) in Bratislava at the beginning of the new millenium – at a time, when young painting in Slovakia had it’s viewers and numerous protagonists.
As a trained graphic designer, she found her way to painting on her own and, perhaps as a result of that individualism, she now belongs to the significant phenomena of contemporary Slovak painting. Her artwork is characteristic of strong independent authentic expression, without following current trends and tendencies in art. In her artwork, she does not reflect any external. i.e. political, social or societal events. She is among those artists
focusing more on internal personal testimony.
Her beginnings on the art scene were not easy, as she did not have the backup and support an academy painting studio can provide. The turning point came in 2008, when she became one of the final twenty in the prestigious competition VÚB Painting of the Year. At that time, shortly after returning to Asia, she created her first comprehensive series of Hunters and Pickers (2008). A year later, she repeatedly scored in the competition
of VÚB Painting of the Year and, also became a finalist in the Viennese Strabag Artaward International. Paintings of Kristina Mésároš are mainly based on stories. In her work, she is often exploring the idea of finding inner
freedom and the meaning of life through poetic fantasy scenes in which an important role is played by the natural environment and in it a hidden hint of previous or future events. In her painting, she inserts stories of specific
places that are normally unknown or only work in relation to a personal memory or fact taken out of its original context. Her own impressions and memories inspire her to poetry saturated scenes, in which an important role
is played by the interaction of the environment with the human figure.
